Case View Alert functionality

In this article, we explain how Case View Alert works.

Case View Alert functionality is introduced in Mosaic 22.2.4.0 in response to customer requests for workers to be alerted when another user has viewed one of their cases but does not have a worker relationship recorded.

Case view alert is controlled by the system property caseviewalert, which will be set to false by default on the first upgrade to this functionality. It can be enabled by changing the system property to true.

Functionality

Person records

When a worker views the person record of a person with which they do not have a current worker relationship recorded, the case view alert table will record that view and add an eye icon to the person summary bar:

The icon will only be visible to workers either with a worker relationship to the person themselves and the relevant person view permissions, or a worker with the override system function. See the permissions section below for details.

When a worker selects the icon, they will be presented with a table showing them the workers who have viewed the case, with their worker ID, who they were acting for and when the latest view was.

The case view alert table will only retain the latest view for each specific worker, up to a maximum of 30 distinct workers, or worker/acting for combinations.

This is intended as an alert only - the audit tables will still record further information in more detail, so if an unauthorised view is alerted, the audit reports can then be used to give further information about the specific actions of that worker.

The case view alerts table can be closed, which will retain the icon and the table entries.

If the alerts have all been checked or actioned, the case view alert table can be acknowledged. This will clear the table and remove the icon for that person's record until another view is registered.

The table can also be output to Excel, enabling it to be shared outside of Mosaic where needed. This will show the entries within the table. The filename will record the Person ID along with the date and time the Excel output is produced.

Groups

Workers viewing groups will work in the same way as the above, with the only difference being that case view alerts will be recorded where the worker does not have a worker relationship recorded with any member of the group. Case view alerts (permissions allowing) will show for workers with a relationship with at least one member of the group.

Permissions

Each worker can have Case view alert permission set in the Config Tool, Permissions, select a worker, and person view permissions. This can be set to:

  • None - Worker will not see the case view alert icon.

  • View - Worker will see the case view alert icon and be able to click on it to view the table. They can close and output to Excel but cannot Acknowledge (for example, cannot clear the views).

  • View/Amend - Worker can do all the same as with View permission, with the addition of being able to Acknowledge the views, which will clear the table and icon for all workers.

Disabling case view alert after use

If case view alerts functionality has been in use in an instance and is subsequently set to false, this will clear the case view alerts table. It does not affect any other audit tables. This is done to ensure that if the functionality is turned back on at a later date, historic views are not shown.
