Unable to extend the end date of a completed service

In this article, we’ll explain why you can’t change the end date of a service once it’s ended.

When you go to the care package screens from the Person Summary and try to amend a service, you’ll see the Unplanned End button. When you click it, you’ll get a date field called New Ended Date.

📌Note: The End Date should be between From Date and To Date
These dates will be dynamic depending on the care package

If you enter an end date in that field that falls outside the existing range, you’ll see a validation message. For example: The End Date should be between 01/12/2024 and 01/01/2025

📌Note: The screenshot below comes from our locally tested Sales instance, using a fictitious person to confirm the behaviour.

Since the service already ended, as the validation message says, the system will only let you set an earlier end date not a later one.


We recommend repurchasing a small portion of this element for after the end date, then ending it on the date you need.
