When a case relevant for CP-IS is transferred from Authority A to Authority B an end date would be added for Authority A - i.e. the Child Protection Plan ended, or the Looked After legal status given an end date. The NHS records CP-IS cases against each specific authority, so although this case may have a new start date for the Authority B, these will be managed separately.
β
Authority A's end date will be recorded and the usual 365 day retention period (28 days for unborn child protection plan) will begin. Within the 365 day retention, if there are relevant contacts with NHS, alerts will be sent to Authority A. If Authority B has sent details of a new plan or status, then it will also get the updates.
β
After 365 days Authority A will cease getting the alerts and will be removed from this case, where Authority B will continue until the end of their retention period.
β
Where an Unborn Child Protection Plan was recorded and ended prior to the birth of the child, CP-IS alerts will be sent to Authority A against the mother's record within the 28 day retention period.
