The retention period of all records on the Child Protection – Information Sharing (CP-IS) system is 365 days following the end date of the case. This period is set by NHS Digital and applies to all cases, except for the following:
An unborn child, the retention is 28 days.
Where the NHS number is inactive and isn’t superseded, the case becomes immediately inactive.
When you enter the CP or Looked After status incorrectly and delete it, the delete date is then immediate.
