Error:
‘You cannot start work of this type.
Another worker has already initiated work which alters the care package
type [based on your site] care package.’

If you can’t start a workstep because of this validation box, you can fix it on the front end. It happens when a system lock tied to the Person ID and Package Type ID doesn’t clear properly.

To remove the lock and start your step, follow these steps:

📌Note: Try this in a test instance first.

  1. Open the Locks Manager in Configuration Tools.

  2. In the search box, type: PEOPLE%PACKAGE_TYPES

  3. Check that the Lock Table column shows: Mo_Coarse_Locks

  4. Look through the Reference column for your Person ID and Package Type ID.

  5. They'll be separated by a % symbol (e.g. 123654%DEFAULTPB).

  6. Find the matching row and remove the lock.

  7. Try starting your workstep again.

If you need any further help, please raise a new case.
