Browser error ‘The site can't be reached refused to connect’

In this article, we explain why you might not be able to access your application via RDWeb (Remote Desktop Webssite).

Log in error:
‘The site can't be reached
mosaicimu.yourparticularcouncil.gov.uk refused to connect.’
‘Try:
- Checking the connection
- Checking the proxy and the firewall’
‘ERR_CONNECTION_REFUSED’

If you’re receiving these errors, we'll probably need to run diagnostic checks to make sure traffic flows freely both ways. If you're a hosted customer, we'll handle that for you. Self-hosted customers, please reach out to your internal IT team.

Please raise a new case online and reference the title of this article with the following:

  • What are you trying to do, and which application are you trying to access?

  • A full screenshot of the browser showing the error and the URL bar at the top.

  • Are any other environments not working as expected?

  • Can any other workers access the link you’re trying?

  • Do you know of any planned work e.g. patching or recent changes made to this server?

  • When was the last time you successfully accessed this page, and when did it become unavailable, if known?
