We provide the Mosaic anonymisation process and its procedures as a tool to selectively anonymise data from a Mosaic database. It’s mainly used to create training or test databases for limited testing purposes, excluding external interfaces or any system functions that rely on genuine runtime data.

You shouldn’t use an anonymised database for testing upgrades between Mosaic versions or installing new features like Mosaic Portal or Total Mobile. The anonymisation process affects form answers, so previously completed forms with scripts based on those answers might not load fully. Case history might also be affected for similar reasons.

The process updates all sensitive or personally identifiable data in the database while keeping enough system data to support a training database instance.

If you're a hosted customer, just raise a new case online and reference this article’s title we’ll carry out the anonymisation of your non-live Mosaic databases for you.

If you’re an on-premise customer, you’ll find the anonymisation scripts included with your Mosaic upgrade software. Look in the anonymise folder it contains the instructions along with the scripts for both Oracle and SQL Server. These scripts come with each major release, not with patch releases. For example, if you're on Mosaic version 22.2.3.1, you’ll find the scripts included with the 22.2.3.0 release.
