In Mosaic 21.1 there is an update that allows worksteps with a single subject to be merged more easily, so we would recommend all customers upgrade to the latest version.
β
Prior to Mosaic 21.1, worksteps with a single subject can be merged into a group step, provided:
All of the subjects to be merged have the same step type already in incoming status.
A subjects table is available within the primary form within the step.
The find subjects functionality is made available within the primary form (this can be done temporarily to perform the merge, system administrators should ensure they test this and are aware of any risks to making this available if other users were to access that workstep).
The worker taking this action has the MERGEWORKFLOW system function.
The workstep is set to Can be duplicated in the workstep configuration screen (this can be done temporarily to perform the merge, system administrators should ensure they test this and are aware of any risks to making this available if other users were to access that workstep).
If the above criteria is met, the steps for merging are:
Assuming you have worksteps on Persons A, B and C that you wish to merge.
Start Person A's workstep.
Go to the subjects table and use the Find button to add Person B.
Save and close the workstep. (This changes the step into a group step.)
Resume work on Person A's workstep.
The merge icon should now be available in the top menu bar.
Select merge.
Select all the worksteps to be merged, including the workstep for Worker B, as adding them to the subjects table does not merge their workstep.
Save and continue working, the worksteps should all now be merged as expected. This cancels out the additional pieces of work for the people merged into the step and shows as one group piece of work on the group and individual summary record, and within the worker's workload view.
