Manage group membership

You can add members to a group, end or delete memberships, view membership history, and see members grouped by address.

Group membership in Mosaic tracks who belongs to a group and when. Members can be added, their membership can be ended (preserving history), or in some cases permanently deleted. This article covers all membership management tasks.


Add members to a group

  1. Open the group.

  2. Navigate to the Members section.

  3. Click Add members.

  4. Search for and select the people you want to add.

  5. Click Save.


End a member's membership

Ending a membership sets an end date, removing the person from the active member list while preserving the history.

  1. Open the group.

  2. Navigate to the Members section.

  3. Find the member whose membership you want to end.

  4. Click End membership.

  5. Confirm the end date.

⚠️Important: If the member has active workflow steps linked to this group, their membership cannot be ended until those steps are resolved. The system will tell you what is preventing the change.


Delete a member from a group

In some cases, you can permanently remove a membership record rather than ending it.

⚠️Warning: Deleting a membership permanently removes the record and does not preserve the history. You need the Delete Group Member permission. The system checks for conditions that prevent deletion.


View membership history

You can view the full history of who has been a member of a group, including start and end dates and pronoun information.

  1. Open the group.

  2. Navigate to the Membership history section.


View members grouped by address

You can see group members organised by their postal address to understand household composition.

  1. Open the group.

  2. Navigate to the Addresses section.

  3. Members are grouped by their current address.


πŸ“ŒNote: If a member's record is restricted, their address is hidden but their name still appears.
