The changes required to the Mosaic Report Repository to meet the new requirements published by Ofsted on 22 November 2024 relating to changes for the 2024-2025 reporting year will be released in Mosaic Reports 25.2. Outlined below are the expectations in terms of data recording within Mosaic which can then be used with the introduced / amended mapping items (filters and groups).
The foster carer sexuality must be recorded as a form answer via a lookup form question (radio button- or drop-down field). A filter has been added to allow customers to identify the form question(s) and, a group to allow the values that they have configured to be categorised to the values that are required for the Ofsted fostering dataset.
The foster carer religion can be recorded via a form answer via a lookup form question or via the religion field that can be recorded via the person summary screen.
📌Note: the religion check boxes on the foster carer approval screen cannot be used; checkboxes allow multiple values to be recorded when only one is allowed. A filter has been added to allow customers to identify the form question(s) and, a group to allow the values that they have configured to be categorised to the values that are required for the Ofsted fostering dataset (this group pulls in the reference data and the values configured for the form questions.
The foster carer gender should be recorded via the gender field. A group has been added to allow the values that they have configured to be categorised to the values that are required for the Ofsted fostering dataset.
The foster carer marital / civil partnership status should be recorded via the person summary screen. A group has been added to allow the values that they have configured to be categorised to the values that are required for the Ofsted fostering dataset.
In addition to the introduction of these mapping items, which potentially require amended Mosaic configuration, the following changes have been made to support the changes for the fostering dataset:
An update to the group to categorise the ethnicity of the foster carers, and a new field added to the DM_ETHNICITIES table to show the mapping.
An update to the group to categorise the disability of the approved foster carers.
An update to the group to categorise the placement offer types.
A n update to the group to amend the reason for deregistration of approved foster carers.
The following changes have been made to the reports themselves:
Removed the Ethnicity and Disability fields for the foster carer from the row-level foster carer data report.
Updated the datamart table holding demographic data for approved foster carers.
Created a new report to support the new aggregated data for approved foster carers.
