This was removed from Mosaic 21.1.0.0 with the upgrade of the CKeditor third party library, the following advice is included in the release notes.

πŸ“Œ Note: That the paste buttons in the toolbar or rich texts will display a message:

'Your browser doesn't allow you to paste this way. Press Ctrl+V to paste as CKEditor now supports only the native paste functions of the browser ctrl/cmd-v or native context menu +paste.'

We have left the buttons in place during a transitional phase and will look to remove them in a later release.

Rich text areas are designed to allow for formatting text within Mosaic and can be expanded for users to type large amounts of text. Worksteps can be saved as you progress, to protect any data entered. The intention is that generally information should be entered directly into to Mosaic itself, rather than on Word documents - this also avoids personal information being stored outside of Mosaic.

Word adds hidden formatting to the text which is not recognised/accepted by Mosaic. We are looking at whether we can work around this in future, but it it unlikely to be a quick fix unfortunately. In the meantime, we would recommend that wherever possible, users enter information directly into Mosaic forms - and where this is not possible, text us copied into notepad prior to pasting into Mosaic.

We are also working on some scripts that you will be able to run as a stored procedure that will strip this type of formatting out of forms where it is found. This is in progress, and we will update the relevant knowledge article when it is available.
