Oracle's password requirements include the following:

  1. Passwords must be at least 6 characters long.

  2. They must contain a mix of alphabetic and numeric characters.

  3. Passwords cannot match or be a reverse of the username.

  4. They should not have too many repeated characters.

  5. Recently used passwords cannot be reused.

  6. Oracle recommends you avoid certain special characters, including:

    • Quotation marks: " "

    • Ampersand: &

    • Asterisk: *

    • Vertical bar: |

    • Percent sign: %

    • Tilde: ~

    • Backslash: \

    • Dollar sign: $

    • Pound sign: Β£

    • At sign: @

    • Forward slash: /
